About River Reader Books
Passion for Reading
River Reader serves the small town of Lexington, Missouri, a rural community of only 4,500 people. River Reader was opened in 2004 by Pat and Gary Worth. They completely renovated the 2,000 square foot 1880's interior. In 2022 Ron and Pam Fuenfhausen purchased the building and business and their daughter, Christy Todd, is the newest Manger/Bookseller in the IndieBooks business.
At River Reader Books, we believe that every one of us should carry at least one book, or in our case, as many as we can fit in our bags. We will help you to pick the best titles to match your route to work, a long flight or a calm day by the beach where you can enjoy a captivating plot.
We offer a great selection of general interest books, civil war history, toys, games and full-service espresso bar with cafe seating. We periodically show local artists' work in our small gallery.
Our small shop has a feeling of "returning home." We're a community social hub, for both the old and young. We invite you all, no matter what age, to go on new adventures and discover faraway places, and remember—your imagination can take you anywhere, you just need to take the first step. Go ahead and visit our store today, we've been waiting for you.
